We are in the midst of finishing up this Wyomissing, PA home addition, and we're excited to share the details of all the hard work our team has put in so far to make this come to life.
FLoor Plans
The new space will be a master suite, featuring a laundry room, master bedroom, walk-in closet, and master bathroom. The bedroom will even include a cozy reading nook, while the bathroom will offer a fully tiled standing shower, tub, and double sink. We will also add six new windows to the addition, with siding, shingles, and gutters carefully selected to match the existing house.
General Construction
We began by removing the gutters and roof from the garage, followed by digging and pouring four concrete footers to support the back of the addition. Next came an exciting part for the customers: the framing!
Inside, we insulated the walls, floor, and attic to enhance energy efficiency. We installed 5/8" fire-rated drywall in the garage and 1/2" drywall on the second floor. In the bathroom, the standing shower received a waterproof membrane, elegant tiles, and frameless shower glass. We installed carpet throughout the bedroom and walk-in closet. Cabinets were added to the reading nook in the bedroom and the laundry room, which also received a granite countertop. Finally, each room was primed and painted.

HVAC
To keep the new space comfortable, we installed a ducted mini-split system for heating and cooling. This system includes duct work and ceiling diffusers which will allow for a more even air flow.
Electrical
Our electrical work included setting up a new sub panel to handle the increased load. Safety was a priority, so we added AFCI breakers and guarantee all outlets exceeded the standards.
We also enhanced the lighting with LED ceiling lights and dimmers and moved the washer and dryer circuits to their new location. Additionally, we prepared for smart TV and computer use with network cabling and an optional coax cable for the master bedroom.
Plumbing
For the plumbing, we started by cutting the existing drain line in the crawl space and running a new 4" line, along with water lines, from the garage to the second floor. We installed all necessary drain and vent lines for the laundry and bathroom, using PEX piping for the water supply. Finally, we fitted all the bathroom fixtures.
This home addition in Wyomissing, PA, showcases our ability to handle every detail of a home transformation.
